Russian min sees no shutdown of car plants amid econ situation
MOSCOW, May 26 (PRIME) -- The Industry and Trade Ministry does not expect a shutdown of car plants in Russia due to a difficult market situation, Minister Denis Manturov told reporters Thursday.
“I do not think that (the current situation) poses a threat of plants’ shutdown, but as you see some models are sold better, some – worse. The market is reacting very sensitively to introduction of new car models, and they are certainly sold better,” he said.
Car producers will have bigger chances to stay on the market if reduce expenditures and introduce new models more actively, Manturov said.
